Collection: Deadhead Series

When the touring slowed and the drum circles thinned, Deadheads found themselves searching for a new groove—something with rhythm, community, and just enough chaos to feel like a second set at Red Rocks. Enter pickleball.

It started when a few fans set up makeshift courts in campground parking lots during summer festivals. The thwack of the paddle echoed like a distant Phil Lesh bassline, and suddenly people were wandering over, barefoot, tie-dyed, and curious. Before long, volleys turned into jams, rallies turned into mini drum circles, and the court became the new communal zone—equal parts sport, hangout, and spiritual experiment.

Now, across America, you’ll find courts decorated with dancing bears, paddles painted like vintage tour posters, and players who swear the perfect dink has the same energy as a Garcia solo—effortless, joyful, and just a little cosmic.

In short: Pickleball didn’t just give Deadheads a hobby. It gave them a new jam.
